Description
An exquisite, long Antique Victorian Guard chain from the late 19th Century made up of faceted 9ct Yellow Gold cable links which have developed a lovely smoothness with age.
The chain is complete with a claw clasp at the end which may have been used to attach a pocket watch or a cylinder of fur known as a Muff to keep the wearer’s hands warm in winter.
It has a lovely weight to it and the links articulate smoothly together. It can be worn as one long chain or looped twice around the neck.Â
